'The British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) is a representative body which promotes the production, study and use of moving image, sound and related media in higher education and research. It was founded in 1948 as the British Universities Film Council and became the British Universities Film & Video Council in 1983. '    Many links to other libraries, but no freebies!

'The Society of Teachers of Speech and Drama was established soon after the Second World War from the amalgamation of two much earlier Associations formed to protect the professional interests of qualified, specialist teachers of Speech and Drama, to encourage good standards of teaching and to promote the study and knowledge of Speech and Dramatic Art in every form. The aims of the Society today are much the same, although its interests have broadened to include the business world. Close links have been forged with the Drama Schools and Examination Boards and its publications are read world wide.'

 

'Welcome to the Website of the United Kingdom Literacy Association.  UKLA is a registered charity, which has as its sole object the advancement of education in literacy. UKLA is committed to promoting good practice nationally and internationally in literacy and language teaching and research. The Association was founded in 1963 as the United Kingdom Reading Association. In 2003 it changed its name to the United Kingdom Literacy Association, to reflect more accurately its wider range of concerns. '
