'Welcome to the Earth Science Teachers' Association website. The aim of the Association is to advance education by encouraging and supporting the teaching of Earth sciences at all levels, whether as a single subject such as Geology, or as part of Science or Geography or other courses.'  

 

'The Geological Society of London (1807) is the UK national society for geoscience. It is a learned and professional body, and a registered charity. It exists to promote the geosciences and the professional interests of UK geoscientists. The Society has over 9000 members and is the largest national geoscience society in Europe.'  


'The Institute of Biology is the professional body for UK biologists.  It was founded in 1950, obtained a Royal Charter in 1979, and is a registered charity.  Its 14,000 members work in industry, research, education and healthcare, amongst other areas.'   Could not find any references to ICT but am ever hopeful.

An impressive range of interactive and highly educational materials, reasonably priced for whole-site installation. - I particularly like the Foodwebs - Ponds package.  'Software to help you teach! Established in 1985, Newbyte is an Educational Software company specialising in the development of simulation style software. We feel that the teacher is the best person to decide on how their students will be taught a particular subject and we seek to provide simulations to help them get their message across to the students.'

 

'The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth dedicated to promoting excellence in science. The Society plays an influential role in national and international science policy and supports developments in science engineering and technology in a wide range of ways. '    Some excellent digital video resources - but not sure about downloading.
